How many IVF cycles will I need?
Most couples who achieve pregnancy do so within 1-3 cycles. However, this depends heavily on age, egg quality, sperm quality, uterine health, and the underlying diagnosis. At ShreyIVF, we assess your individual prognosis honestly at your first consultation and discuss realistic expectations so you can plan emotionally and financially. We never promise a specific number of cycles will guarantee success.
Is IVF painful? What does the process feel like day to day?
The daily stimulation injections are manageable for most women — similar to a small pinch, with mild bloating and discomfort as follicles grow. Egg retrieval is performed under sedation (you will be asleep or very drowsy) so you feel no pain during the procedure itself. Embryo transfer is non-sedated and feels similar to a routine gynaecological examination — mild discomfort at most. Most women describe the emotional aspects of IVF as harder than the physical aspects.

What happens to embryos we do not use in our first transfer?
